HoH e-News: AGM and Family BBQ

HoH e-News: AGM and Family BBQ

by ADMYN HoH / Wednesday, 11 January 2017 / Published in eNews

Hearts of Hope Australia is pleased to announce that arrangements for the 12th Annual General Meeting are well underway. The meeting will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Parkville, VIC. This is a public meeting and all members of the community that are interested in, or have been affected by congenital heart disease are invited to attend. Please note that additional details regarding the AGM, including meeting papers, will be sent out to all HoH members before the end of January.

The meeting will be followed by a followed by a lunch at the Royal Children’s Hospital. HoH will be providing the BBQ food (meat, bread, sauce etc), plates, cutlery and serviettes. We are asking families to provide their own drinks and if anyone can assist by bringing a salad or desert to share, it would be appreciated.

As in previous years, we will also be releasing balloons in memory of those children that have lost the battle with congenital heart disease. If you would like to include a personal message on one of the balloons, please contact me for more information.

This year we have also engaged the services of a professional photographer to ‘document’ the event and also to obtain photos of families and their children for inclusion on our website and other printed material. Participation in this is totally optional and what details, if any, are published is at the discretion of parents. An information release document will be made available to parents on the day detailing how we intend to use the photos and what details you are happy to have published.

As mentioned above, participation is optional but we would like to encourage parents to get involved. We have a beautiful new website but many of the images are stock photos and our aim is to replace these with photos of the children our organisation represents. Additionally, having professional photos will allow us to produce a great calendar for 2018. Digital copies of photos taken on the day will be made available to participating families free of charge. In summary, the program for the day is as follows:

  • 10.30 am – 12.00 pm: Annual general Meeting
  • 12.00 pm – 02.00 pm: BBQ Lunch
  • 02.00 pm – 02.30 pm: Balloon release.

In order to finalise arrangements, including meeting room hire and catering, we need to get an idea of how many people will be coming on the day. Please confirm whether or not you will be attending the meeting and / or lunch. It would also be helpful if you could detail the number of adults and children (and their ages) in your party and whether or not you are able to bring a salad or desert.

Please contact me via email (ceo@hearts-of-hope.org) or by calling me on 0417 285 445 to pass this information to HoH or if you have any questions.

Kind regards

Csaba Óvári
